pp108 : Encryption

Encryption

This topic describes the concept of encryption.

Encryption is transforming the content of all or parts of a plain text document into an unreadable format, using a key. When a private key is used to encrypt, the public key is needed to decrypt or revert the encrypted text to a readable format, and vice versa. Documents encrypted with a public key cannot be decrypted using the same public key, but can be decrypted only by using the corresponding private key.
